Magnetic Fields in Matter

Just as electric fields polarize matter, magnetic fields induce Magnetization. However, the response of materials to magnetic fields is more varied and complex than in electrostatics.

We classify materials into three main types: Diamagnets (which oppose the field), Paramagnets (which align with the field), and Ferromagnets (which retain magnetization). To handle these effects macroscopically, we introduce the auxiliary field H and the concept of bound currents.
