Electrodynamics

So far, we have encountered Electrostatics and Magnetostatics. In this chapter, we begin the study of Electrodynamics, where electric and magnetic fields are no longer static but vary with time.

We begin by showing how conservation laws and slowly varying fields become the practical rules of circuit theory. We then explore Electromotive Force, Faraday's Law of Induction, and finally complete the full set of Maxwell's Equations.

1. Electromotive Force

From fields to circuits, then Ohm's Law, Motional EMF, and the origin of electromotive force.

→

2. Electromagnetic Induction

Faraday's Law, Lenz's Law, and the induced electric field.

→

3. Maxwell's Equations

Electrodynamics before Maxwell, symmetry, and the full equations.
